I Just got back form an amazing trip to Seoul, South Korea and I couldn’t resist to edit the photos right away, Korea was a big dream for me, I love Asia in general, but Korea has been in my mind for long time and this year I made it happen.
But the main reason of this trip was my dear friend Mirha, we met in Amsterdam two years ago but now that she moved to Singapore we sadly can’t see each other that often, so I had to go to her side of the world.
I can’t even describe how much I missed my kimchi sister, she’s so inspiring, she always pushes me to do more and better, I’m lucky to have her in my life.
The first three days were all for sightseeing, we visited the hipster Hongdae, the vibrant Gangnam, the Noryangjin fish market, drank lots of amazing makgeolli (milky rice wine), we went to the Gyeongbokgung palace, the Bukchon Hanok village, went crazy for ice-cream at Sobok, visited the Changdeokgung palace, we stuffed our happy bellies at the Gwangjang market with bibimbap, gimbap and mung bean pancakes and in the end we visited the Naksan park and the Ihwa mural village.
After all that sightseeing we had a self love day 😀 we went to a traditional koran spa, I’ll never forget the koran mama who gave us the most painful scrub and massage, what an experience, highly recommended though.
I also met few locals, Yusup, a guy I photographed in Amsterdam with his wife and two lovely girls, Namhee and Ahyoung , thankful I got to meet up with them and got to understand better the Korean culture.
I loved the food there and went a bit crazy with kimchi (spicy fermented Napa cabbage), I was eating it as there was no tomorrow, and also got obsessed with the Korean skin care, Mirha introduced me to the 10 steps skin care routing, I found it very interesting and now I can’t live without it.
I need to find a kimchi and skin products dealer in Holland 🙂
I got back so inspired and alive from that trip, travel is to live for me, the more I travel the more I want to experience this world.
See you soon Asia <3
