INSPIRING TALK WITH DIANTA FROM THE ROAR STUDIO

Few months ago I launched my new website, (I’m still doing happy dances every time  I see it) and I thought you should know the person who’s behind it, the super talented Dianta from The Roar Design.

I met Dianta few years ago, she reached out to interview me and I felt very flattered she wanted to know more about my business, long story shot we instantly connected and became friends. After every meeting with Dianta I always feel so inspired to do more and better, invest in myself and in my business, I feel like she’s also a mentor and inspiration for me.
If you haven’t read my interview,  you can find the link here

I wanted to ask her the same questions she asked me to let you get to know her better.

Can you introduce yourself? What do you do and why you do it?

Hi, I am Dianta Weeda. I am a web designer with a love for branding and photography. I help creative girl bosses launch a website they and their dream clients love.
I love web design because all my creative skills and my business experience come together. From graphic details to the big picture of a business vision. To really understand my client and put myself in her position to create something she loves is very exciting. I have been an entrepreneur ever since I graduated Business School 11 years ago. I have been up, down and underneath and that’s why it is so fulfilling for me to, not only create an amazing website but to cheer my boss babes on in their adventure. They always have someone in their corner, no matter how crazy it gets!

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

A typical day is spent on the computer. Boring haha! That’s why I love to start my day with a little meditation and a short workout (love the Tone It Up girls!) I always do creative work first because this is most important. After lunch, I like to do the urgent things like Instagram, e-mail, and planning. I am most busy with creating websites, templates, and content for my blog. I love to tell my best website tips and share some of my own girl boss moments. I like to end the day with a walk outside or preparing dinner. At least once a week I get together with inspiring people to chat about the freelance life. Or I visit new shops, restaurants or places to cultivate fresh ideas.

What inspires you?

People. I love to connect and step into someone else’s shoes to see what inspires them. I also find a lot of inspiration in books and magazines about cooking, travel or fashion. I am always looking for colors, fonts, shapes and good vibes everywhere around me! Besides web designer, I am also a photographer so I love to get inspired by light, textures, and nature.

What are your passions outside your business?

Well, I am lucky to have a business that is my passion. I am a bit of a workaholic, but when I am not working, I love to workout. I am not ripped yet because I also like my wine and French fries! I am also very passionate about learning. I like to learn about everything that makes me grow so I have more to give. Everything from mindset, health, spirituality to playing the guitar, surfing, photography or yoga. Like Marie Forleo says multi-passionate!

The best and most challenging part of your job?

The most challenging part is discovering what my client wants. To see her vision and translate this into a website she truly loves. There is so much inspiration and sometimes this can be overwhelming. To help her scale it down into something concrete that resonates with her business vision and her personal wishes can sometimes be challenging. The moment I send her the first draft and I nailed it, that’s the best part! Then I am happy dancing! As of this moment I know we are connected and we laid the foundation for the entire design.

Best advise you would give to your client?

Always start from within. This may sound a bit touchy-feely but it is the best place to start. Ask yourself some good questions to clarify what you want your business to be, how you want to spend your days creating. Give yourself permission to freely answer, the sky is the limit. Then you have a clear picture in your mind when you look for inspiration and need to make decisions. And this way you can also communicate your values, not only to your designer but also to your audience. Nobody is you and that’s your strength.

What makes you different from others?

I think it’s the combination of my love for everything creative and my business sense. It’s so great to pursue your passion and do what you love. But you have to be willing to learn about marketing so you can make a living with doing what you love. When I create a website I focus on the aesthetics as well as the purpose of the website, namely to convert visitors into clients. Most web designers are more into one or the other, while I like to keep a good balance.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

I like to stay focused on web design, so I can develop and grow to help more stylish creatives. For now, I am most active in The Netherlands but I do have plans to cross borders with my service. Even though I like to grow, I do aspire to keep my business personal and give my full attention to one boss babe at a time. It’s all about quality over quantity for me.
