Are you planning your elopement in the Dolomites? Here some tips that will help you to plan your destination wedding in the Dolomites.
When is the best time to plan an elopement in the Dolomite?
The Dolomites are beautiful all year round, it depends on the feeling you are looking for your elopement. In spring everything is blooming, summer can be warm and lush, fall is amazing for its warm colors and winter is cozy and snowy.
I love all seasons to elope in the Dolomites, but I would avoid the month of august because it can be too warm and all the attractions can be too busy as most of the Italians are on holiday.
Also, keep in mind that in some months of the year some shelters and hotels can be closed, mostly in low season, that’s why I think it’s very important to hire a wedding planner based in the Dolomites that knows very well the territory, that’s why I would suggest Jilenia Costner
Why not choose a symbolic ceremony?
Sometimes it can be challenging to arrange all the paperwork you need to get legally married in a foreign country. What most of the couples do is get legally married in their home county and do a symbolic ceremony in some very iconic spots in nature. This way you take off your shoulders the stress of the paperwork and you can freely enjoy your special day.
How to get there?
You can fly to Italy or to Austria.
The main airports in Italy are Bergamo, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, Treviso, Venice, Verona.
In Austria, you could fly to Innsbruck and Salzburg.
I highly suggest to rent a car once there, it’s the best way to explore the less touristic places and Italian little villages.
Where to stay?
Chalet Pia is one of my favorite hotels, but if you are looking for apartments I would suggest Chalet La Flu in Corvara.
Best time of the day to arrange an elopement
Sunrise and sunset are the best time for soft glowing and flattering light. I would suggest getting married in the morning as you will find fewer people around and there is less chance of rain. If you want to get married at sunset make sure to check the weather forecast. It’s vital for your special day. Again, a wedding planner will help you make the right decision.
